Longboat Key ranked No. 2 among North American islands in Conde Nast Traveler's 2010 Readers' Choice Awards. The ranking, slated to appear in the travel magazine's November's issue, was based on a survey of 25,916 readers. Respondents evaluated island destinations for activities, atmosphere/ambience, beaches, friendliness, lodgoing, restaurants and scenery. Longboat Key scored 80.3 out of a possible 100 points.
